North Salinas secured an 11-4 win Monday, breaking the game open with a five-run fourth inning to build separation.
The Vikings’ surge featured a sacrifice fly from Coraline Fernandez, a two-run home run from Audri Esquivel, an RBI single by Clarissa Corona, and a run-scoring triple from Kymberly Deguzman. Corona finished 3-for-5 as North Salinas worked nine walks and turned a double play defensively.
Monte Vista Christian mounted a late push in the final inning, loading the bases while trailing by seven.
With the tying run on deck, Audri Palmer shut the door with a strikeout to end the threat and seal the victory.
