Ashlee Io delivered a perfect day at the plate Thursday, going 5-for-5 with a home run to lead Hollister to a 12–2 win over Watsonville.
Io set the tone early and came through all game, highlighted by a solo shot to right in the third inning as part of a four-run frame. Madalyne Rodriguez added an RBI single in the inning, and Nevaeh Charles followed with a two-run double as the Haybalers broke it open.
Hollister racked up 16 hits, with Rodriguez driving in three runs and Avery Chavez adding two hits. The Haybalers also stayed aggressive on the bases with six stolen bases and turned two double plays defensively.
Kaliyah Ceja earned the win in the circle, allowing just two hits over five scoreless innings as Hollister controlled the game throughout.
