Greenfield fell 7-1 Friday after a decisive second inning put them in an early hole they ultimately couldn’t overcome.
Chloe Zavala entered in the third inning and delivered a dominant relief performance, recording 13 strikeouts over five innings while allowing just one hit and no runs.
Leslie Sanchez drove in the Bruins’ lone run, and Zavala, Sanchez, Camila Lara, Bri Rojas, and Karina Garcia each recorded a hit as Greenfield also drew seven walks.
Despite Zavala’s strong effort and clean defense that included a double play with no errors, the early deficit proved too much to erase.
