Utah-bound slugger Denae Lee stayed red-hot Tuesday, collecting three hits and launching a two-run homer in the sixth, but Monterey dropped a tight 8–7 battle to Branham despite outhitting the Bruins 11–9.

The Toreadores erupted for five runs in the sixth to nearly flip the game. Emery Jennings drove in a run with a single, Jenna Deese ripped a two-run triple, and Lee followed with a towering two-run shot to right that suddenly pulled Monterey within striking distance.

Monterey’s offense was active all night. Khloe Deese added three hits, Jennings finished with two, and Ryanna Elliott reached base three times via walk as the Toreadores worked eight free passes. Monterey also pressured the defense on the bases, swiping five bags, including two by Anaiyah Brown.

Branham built its lead with a four-run third inning and held off the late push, despite Monterey’s surge and balanced lineup production. Even in defeat, Lee continued her power surge—another reminder that last season’s home run co-leader is once again driving Monterey’s offense.
