Senior Samantha Scharton delivered a historic performance Saturday, going 4-for-4 with four doubles to lead North Monterey County to a 24-2 victory while setting the program’s single-game record.
Scharton’s four doubles break the previous record of three, which Julia Oliva set in 2025. Before Oliva, Brittany Warnars (2006) and Jasmine Salazar (2007) were among those who held multi-double performances. Oliva’s mark stood for just one season before Scharton raised it again in 2026.
Scharton already owns another major entry in the record book — the single-game stolen base record with five, set in 2023 — further cementing her legacy in the program.
North Monterey County finished with 28 hits in the dominant win, while Maya Ibarra earned the victory in the circle, striking out six over four innings to cap a record-setting day.
